When is Columbus Day?

Columbus Day celebrates the day the Christopher Columbus landed in the America's in 1492.

Throughout time the day of Columbus' landing has been remembered and honored in numerous ways by teachers, poets, politicians, and priests.

In the United States, Columbus day was first officially celebrated as a state holiday in Colorado in 1905. In 1970, it was nationalized into a federal holiday.
