Saint Patrick (Maewyn Succat) is the patron saint of Ireland. At 16 years old, this Englishman was enslaved in Ireland. He escaped and returned home. He joined the church, and later returned to Ireland as a missionary. St Patrick converted may Irish to Christianity.
Saint Patrick's Day is the celebration of St Patrick's life, work, and accomplishments. Saint Patrick's Day is normally celebrated on March 17th. However, it is moved if it conflicts with other Christian Holiday's like Lent and Palm Sunday.
