Twelfth Night, also known and Epiphany Eve, is celebrated the night before Epiphany. It marks the end of the Twelve Days of Christmas (Christmas Day to Epiphany).
It has been a day of feasting and celebrating. A common theme is switching up the natural order of things for the night: Masters serve their servants, men dressed as woman and vice versa, and often a Lord of Misrule would be selected to lead the celebrations.
